This project was to “retro-fit” new Air-Conditioning to an existing hotel in the Quartermile area of Edinburgh. We worked with the client initially to develop a feasibility study, then moved to design and then onto the installation of the units within the live hotel.
We installed condensing units in the basement car park and routed pipe-work and cabling through the risers to feed the corridors and then into each bedroom, where wall mounted units were installed into the existing bedrooms. We had to work closely with the hotel staff to minimise disruption to their operations and ensure we gave them maximum revenue from the available rooms. The project was completed successfully to the satisfaction of the client and they commented on how well we managed the process of agreeing access and delivering the work in each room, to allow them to then allow guests back in once we were complete.
Added value: Our partnership with Daikin and our extensive AC design knowledge allowed for a smooth pre-construction period where the risks were managed “up-front” ensuring a successful installation period.
